Iron age & roman coins found together in Dovedale.

A climber found late iron age and republican roman coins when exploring the Ranard’s Kitchen Cave in Dovedale, a valley accent to the Manifold. Last year, archeologists from Leicester University and injuried servicemen from the Army joined forces to excavate the cave.  The coins were cleaned by specialists from the British Museum and University College London and  are going to be on permanent display in Buxtom Museum.
