Relax and unwind in this idyllic hideaway!
All visitors are greeted personally by Liz and Chris with a welcome tray and pot of tea on arrival. Swainsley Farm is situated in an elevated position looking south down the peaceful and idyllic Manifold Valley. This is a fantastic location with incredible views in all directions and wonderful walking straight from the door. There are three delightful self-catering cottages which can be booked individually or in any combination to take up to 14 people.
The Manifold River flows majestically through spectacular crags and wooded valleys before joining Dovedale a few miles downstream. Steeped in history, this is an area of outstanding natural beauty with lush tranquil dales and wild romantic highlands. The Manifold Trail offers 9.5 miles of cycling through some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole of the Peak District National Park. The less energetic may just want to stroll along the banks of the Manifold and Dove rivers or explore our pretty villages with their lovely old churches and ancient inns.
Beamed ceilings and many original features have been combined with new deluxe kitchens and bathrooms creating an impression of understated luxury. Premium quality bedlinen, comfy beds with mattress toppers, robes and sumptuous towels are provided for ultimate comfort. Each cottage has a dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge, freezer, TV, DVD, Nespresso coffee machine and free WiFi. On request our visitors have the use of adult cycles, complimentary leisure-centre pass for the gym and swimming pool, I-pad and infant equipment at no charge.
This is a very private location with parking well away from the road. Shops, pubs and wonderful places to eat are close-by but if you want to curl up with a nice meal in your cottage we can offer a selection of frozen meals and breakfast baskets. The market towns of Buxton, Bakewell, Leek and Ashbourne are about 10 miles away in different directions and all have regular markets, good shops and cafes. Chatsworth House, Matlock Bath, many National Trust properties, Alton Towers and other attractions are only a short drive away. There’s lots to see and do – whatever the weather!
